SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council has recommended to the Office of Criminal Justice Services an award to the City of Toledo of $29,190.67 from grant funds under the 2020-WF-VA3-8841 Violence Against Women Act Program (VAWA) to continue the Toledo Police Domestic Violence Unit. The grant funds will be used to fund a part time civilian position to review incoming cases, provide information to victims, and maintain a database of victims.
There is no cash match. There is an in-kind match of $9,730.22, which is a portion of the assigned officers' salary. The department has been awarded under this grant funding every year since FY 1999.
