Summary
WHEREAS, the University of Toledo's Women's Basketball Coach Tricia Cullop was named Mid-American Conference (MAC) coach of the year for the fourth time in her career and reached an impressive personal milestone earlier in the season, notching her 400th career victory; and
WHEREAS, since taking over the Toledo Rocket's Women's Basketball program in 2008, Coach Cullop has rebuilt a Mid-American Conference powerhouse; in 2021-22 she guided a team that was picked to finish eighth in the preseason coaches' poll to a conference-record 19 MAC wins and the 10th regular season championship in school history; and
WHEREAS, in the 2021-22 season Coach Cullop lead the Lady Rockets to a 29-6 record (19-1 MAC) and a MAC regular season title; Toledo entered the MAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed; and
WHEREAS, during Cullop's tenure, the Rockets have been a force in the Mid-American Conference and she has been the winningest coach in school history; and
WHEREAS, with their 14th season at a close, Toledo has hung eight postseason banners in Cullop's time patrolling the sidelines, including a 2011 Postseason WNIT championship, one MAC Championship, two MAC regular-season and four MAC West Division banners from the rafters of Savage Arena; and
WHEREAS, Coach Cullop was the recipient of the 2022 WBCA Carol Eckman Integrity in Coaching Award; an annual award presented to an active member coach who exemplifies Eckman's spirit, integrity and character through sportsmanship, commitment to the student-athlete, honesty, ethical behavior, courage and dedication to purpose; Coach was also presented with WBCA President's Award, an award not presented annuall...
