Recognizing Shrader Tire and Oil 75th Anniversary.
Summary
WHEREAS, Shrader Tire and Oil is celebrating seventy-five years in business with twenty locations in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana and $120 million in annual revenue; and
WHEREAS, Jim and Bernadine Shrader started the family business in 1948 after Jim made the decision to stay in Toledo instead of moving to Washington, D.C. to be a government liaison for Goodyear; and
WHEREAS, the original location of Shrader Tire and Oil was a two-bay garage on Phillips Avenue just down the road from Mancy’s Steakhouse; and
WHEREAS, although many businesses at 75 years have settled into a rhythm and continue with business as usual, Shrader Tire and Oil has shown growth over the past few years with a goal of fifteen percent growth over the next few years as well; and
WHEREAS, as much growth as Shrader Tire and Oil has made in the past seventy-five years and four generations of family ownership, the company in still headquartered in West Toledo a short distance where it all started in 1948; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Toledo City Council recognizes Shrader Tire and Oil on the occasion of their seventy-fifth anniversary and wish the company continued growth and success in the future.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
