SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Streets, Bridges & Harbor (SB&H) is responsible for maintenance and repair of all streets within the City of Toledo. Street maintenance is primarily performed through the use of crack sealant and crack sealing machines. Crack sealing is the most efficient way to provide maintenance to streets at the lowest cost of any method and can extend the life of a roadway for several years before major work is required. We are requesting to purchase two (2) crack sealing machines to supplement an existing crack sealing machine that will be utilized extensively as SB&H continues to expand its role with preventative maintenance on Toledo's streets through the Patch & Seal and Crack Sealing Programs.
The City of Toledo publicly advertised for bids for the purchase of crack sealing machines. SealMaster was determined to be the lowest and best bidder. The total bid price was $107,760.
