SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Toledo Fire and Rescue Department's (TFRD) application for financial assistance submitted under the 2019 Port Security Grant Program has been approved in the amount of $730,455. These funds will be used to purchase a Fire/Police vessel to be used in the port of Toledo and as a regional asset at a total estimated cost of $973,940.

As a condition of this award, the City of Toledo is required to contribute a 25% cost match in the estimated amount of $243,485 of non-Federal funds. The proposed Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget includes $250,000 for this purchase. This ordinance requests appropriation of those funds now in order to timely begin procurement of the Fire/Police vessel. The Federal share is $730,455 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
