SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The existing water service taps at 5313 and 5314 Collomore needed to be replaced, and the Division of Water Distribution was installing a new service taps for the residents. Due to the depth of the excavation, a Toledo Edison electric pole adjacent to the trench began to fall causing a second electric pole to snap and fall on the roof of the home located at 5315 Collomore. Cousino Restoration was hired to perform remediation and cleanup, and repair the damage to the home. Sufficient funds are available within the Risk Management Fund to pay for these emergency repairs.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That an amount not to exceed $36,050.00 is appropriated from the Risk Management Fund Account Code 7095/12000/1157001STDSTD; and expenditure of the same is authorized for the emergency repair of the home located at 5315 Collomore Road.

SECTION 2. That the mayor is authorized to enter into agreements with Cousino Restoration for the purpose listed in Section 1 upon such terms and conditions as approved by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

SECTION 3. That this Council finds it in the best interest of the city to waive the competitive procurement requirements of Chapter 187 of the Toledo Municipal Code for the reason that emergency repairs are needed to maintain uninterrupted habitability of the home and for the further reason that the repair cost has been deemed reasonable and necessary by the city's Risk Manager and Division of Facil...
