SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo has been awarded funding and invited to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for a Hazardous Materials Training Grant to provide funding for the OSHA 8-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Refresher for governmental employees and environmental personnel. The grant funding will also provide training such as Lithium-Ion Battery Response, Emergency Response Awareness, and Rail Safety Awareness for emergency responders. This ordinance authorizes the Mayor to accept the grant and enter into an agreement with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for a Hazardous Materials Training Grant upon terms and conditions approved by the Directors of Public Utilities and Law.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept and deposit grant proceeds from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio into the Operation Grants Fund, Account Code 2016-38000-6G10204STDSTD, in an amount not to exceed $22,999.
SECTION 3. That the appropriation of $22,999 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to Account Code 2016-38000-6G10204STDSTD and the expenditure of same is authorized for the purpose of completing work necessary to carry out the terms of ...
