SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes the Mayor to take bids and award contracts for sodium bisulfite for the purpose of treating wastewater, upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the mayor is authorized to enter into a contract for the purchase of sodium bisulfite for a period not to exceed two years with two additional one-year extensions upon such terms and conditions as approved by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

SECTION 2. That the sum of $125,000 annually authorized in Section 1 is authorized for expenditure from the Sewer Operating Fund, Account Code 6070-36000-4000507STDSTD, to pay the cost for the purchase of sodium bisulfite is contingent upon the availability and appropriation of funds in future operating budgets.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to issue warrant or warrants against the account code identified in Section 2 in amounts not to exceed those authorized above in payments of the obligations incurred pursuant to the contract authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 4. That the ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary f...
