SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Engineering Services is requesting the appropriation of $5,440,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for the 2018 Matches & Planning program. This money will be used to provide City match dollars to state and federal grants and loans.
The CIP allocation for the Matches & Planning program provides funding that is needed to supply match funds for outside grants and loans the division has anticipated and secured, as well as to plan, design, and apply for future Matches and Planning projects.
This project is included in the 2018 Proposed Capital Improvement Budget that was submitted on November 15, 2017. Appropriation of these critical funds now will allow for timely bidding and construction to ensure all projects are completed this year in a balanced, efficient fashion. It also allows for the processing of agreements needed to accept the outside grant and loan dollars before funding agency deadlines.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the sum of $5,440,000 is appropriated from the Capital Improvement Fund into Account Code 5040-35000-8CP1803STREET and the expenditure of same is authorized for the Matches & Planning Program.
