SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Engineering and Construction Management is requesting the appropriation of an amount not to exceed $8,300,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for the Matches & Planning program. This money will be used to provide City match dollars to state and federal grants and loans.
The Matches & Planning program provides funding that is needed to supply match dollars for outside grants and loans the division has anticipated and secured, as well as to plan for future larger scale projects. These CIP funds will match federal and state transportation funds already approved through multiple sources.
Appropriation of these critical funds now will allow for timely bidding and construction to ensure all projects are completed this year in a balanced and efficient fashion. It also allows for the processing of agreements needed to accept the outside grant and loan dollars before funding agency deadlines.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That an amount not to exceed $8,300,000 is appropriated in the Capital Improvement Fund into Account Code 5040-35000-8CP2403STREET; and further authorizing the expenditure of same for the Matches and Planning Roadway Program.
