SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
WHEREAS, Yvonne Dubielak has been a steadfast and compassionate champion of community, nourishment, and hope through her many years of dedicated service with Toledo GROWs; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne has touched the lives of countless Toledoans by nurturing not only gardens, but also people and neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, through her leadership, Toledo GROWs became far more than an urban agriculture program; it grew into a welcoming home for children discovering their first seedling, families seeking healthy food, volunteers finding a purpose, and neighborhoods building pride and connection; and
WHEREAS Yvonne has poured her heart and time into creating spaces where people can gather and learn, transforming vacant lots into places of beauty and possibility; and
WHEREAS, her passion for education and equity has empowered thousands, especially young people, to see their own potential, care for the environment, and understand the deep importance of community; and
WHEREAS, as she retires, Yvonne leaves behind not only thriving gardens and strengthened partnerships, but also a legacy of gratitude, inspiration, and hope that will continue to grow long after her official work has come to a close.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo that:
SECTION 1: We proudly honor Yvonne Dubielak on her extraordinary devotion to our community, express our heartfelt appreciation for the love and labor she has invested, and offer the warmest congratulations as she begins this new, well-earned chapter of her life.
