Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Junior Achievement of Northwestern Ohio's 5th Year program addresses a critical need facing many young adults in Toledo and Northwest Ohio. Each year, high school graduates leave school without a clear next step toward college, career, or economic independence. The rising cost of higher education, limited exposure to career pathways, and lack of access to financial literacy, workplace readiness, and life skills can leave many young adults uncertain about their future.
The 5th Year is a ten-month transition program designed to help recent graduates move from high school and home toward independence through career exploration, mentorship, business and financial education, and exposure to professional opportunities.
Through this partnership, the City of Toledo will employ four students in the Junior Achievement 5th Year program. This investment supports the City's strategic plan and broader goals related to workforce readiness and creating pathways to long-term opportunity for Toledo's youth.
