Summary
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
WHEREAS, Robert (Scott) Siewert, born and raised in Toledo, Ohio has dedicated his life to serving others; and
WHEREAS, Scott is married to Maria (Lupe) Guadalupe Siewert, together they have four sons: Joshua, Frank, Donnie, and David; and
WHEREAS, Scott was a member of the historical "Seabees" while serving in the Navy; the Seabees are the Navy's "construction force, building bases and airfields, conducting underwater construction, and building roads, bridges, and other support facilities and play a crucial role in supporting the fleet and combatant commands"; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of Andrew/Toledo Barber College; Scott obtained his Apprentice Barber License, and later earned his Master Barber License, while working as a self-employed barber; and
WHEREAS, Scott attended the University of Toledo Comm Tech, Owens Community College and later completed the Toledo Police Academy and became a Lucas County Sheriff Deputy; during his public safety career, he is credited for saving two lives by performing CPR; and
WHEREAS, Scott worked for the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority as Sergeant of Police & Fire; there, he received extended training and served as an Advanced Aircraft Firefighter and Fire Arson Investigator 1, 2 & 3, Public Safety Instructor, Emergency Medical Tech, FBI Hostage Negotiator, Mass Casualty/Disaster Training Supervisor and Airport Fire Training Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Scott, a former owner of Toledo's Gold Gym, is a World Champion Powerlifter and has competed since 1980; he is a one-time International Police Olympic Powerlifting Champion, two-time World USA Team Powerlifting Member, five-time Ohio Police Olympic Powerlifting Champion, APF National Masters Powerlifting Champion, USPF National Masters Powerlifting Champion, and a N.W. Ohio Weightlifting Hall of Fame Inductee; and
