Recognizing the Old West End Association for the revitalization of 624 Delaware Avenue and preserving Toledo’s history
Summary
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
WHEREAS, Toledo’s Old West End is home to historic architecture and located at 624 Delaware Avenue there resides a unique 20th century residence containing Spanish and gothic architectural features; and
WHEREAS, the historic residence located at 624 Delaware Avenue fell into disrepair and was set for demolition by the Lucas County Land Bank; and
WHEREAS, Lucas County Land Bank transferred the property to the hands of the Old West End Historic District Commission to revitalize the historic architecture instead of demolishing it; and
WHEREAS, the Old West End Association and the Old West End community have come together in advancing the revitalization of this historic residence; and
WHEREAS, the Toledo City Council is supportive of the preservation of the city’s history and the involvement of the Old West End Association and community in the ongoing efforts of this project
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Toledo City Council recognizes the work to revitalize the historic property at 624 Delaware Avenue by the Old West End Association and community.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
