SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance requests permission to contract for a term of (4) years and a total contract expenditure of $900,000 for Fire Department Uniforms, related equipment, and services. Accordingly, this request was preceded by a Planet Bids uniform supplier solicitation where Superior Uniform Sales, Inc. was the sole respondent and subsequently recommended for contract award.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a four-year contract for the purchase of Fire Department uniforms, related equipment, and services upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Fire and Law.

SECTION 2. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $900,000 is authorized over the term of the contract from the General Fund Account Code 1001-53000-3341002SUPSRV for the purchase of Fire Department uniforms, related equipment, and services.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw a warrant or warrants against the above-referenced Account Code in payment of the obligation authorized in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $900,000 upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely procure uniforms related equip...
