Honoring Judy Trautman for the compassion and love she has for all human kind.
Summary
WHEREAS, Judy Trautman is an educator, co-founder of the MultiFaith Council of NW Ohio, Ordained Sufi Minister for Universal Worship and a professional artist; and
WHEREAS, Judy was a French teacher and technology mentor at Perrysburg Schools for over 40 years; and
WHEREAS, raised in a Baptist family, Judy later became involved in the Presbyterian church; her husband then introduced her to the Unitarian Church; and
WHEREAS, in 2001, along with her husband Woody they began their journey in leading efforts among religious communities, groups and individuals to respect and accept each other; and
WHEREAS, together, Judy and her husband formed the MultiFaith Council of NW Ohio, a significant force and model of multifaith collaboration by addressing critical issues that meet regional needs and by enriching the cultural fabric of the area; and
WHEREAS, as an Ordained Sufi Minister for Universal Worship, Judy leads universal worship and dances of universal peace; believing dancing is a spiritual practice of moving; and
WHEREAS, Judy meditates using dance music and hymns, but feels her art is her, "most intense spiritual practice"; she uses her art as a form of communication and will continue to make her art as a faith practice; and
WHEREAS, at the end of 2022, Judy will pass on the duties of the Council, which was formed at a time of hate and terrorism; now, a means to find a common voice to combat hate and find support; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That we honor Judy Trautman for the compassion and love she has for all human kind.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
