SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
A request has been made by the Area Office on Aging to rename Garden Lake Boulevard between Detroit Avenue and Garden Lake Parkway to Billie Johnson Way.

Billie Johnson was dedicated to the lives of Toledo and Northwest Ohio seniors and making them remain independent. The street name of Billie Johnson Way will reflect the 5 decades of service that Billie Johnson gave to the Area Office on Aging.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby declare its intent to change the name of Garden Lake Boulevard between Detroit Avenue and Garden Lake Parkway in the City of Toledo, Ohio to Billie Johnson Way.

SECTION 2. That the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute such instruments, documents, and certifications and to take such other actions that may be necessary or appropriate in connection with the full implementation of Section 1 hereinabove.

SECTION 3. That the Division of Traffic Management be and they are hereby authorized and directed to place appropriate signs reflecting the renaming of Garden Lake Boulevard between Detroit Avenue and Garden Lake Parkway to Billie Johnson Way.

SECTION 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force immediately from and after its passage.
