SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) has recommended a sub- award to the City of Toledo for $43,204.60 from grant 2016-JG-A01-B2600 (Bureau of Justice Assistance- Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program) for the Forensic and Cybercrimes Section. The grant funds will be used to provide additional training to cybercrimes personnel to remain current with new investigative techniques, the purchase of advanced computer forensic software, and purchase of a digital forensic workstation (Forensic Recovery of Evidence Device).

There is no cash match and the in-kind match requirement will be $14,401.53. The in-kind match will be personnel salary from the cybercrimes section.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the mayor is authorized to enter into a grant agreement and to accept and deposit grant proceeds from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Grant (Bureau of Justice Assistance- Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program) for the Forensic and Cybercrimes Section in the amount of $43,204.60 into the Operation Grants Fund.

SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $43,204.60 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to Account Code 2016-52000-3G00162STDSTD; and further authorizing the expenditure of same for the Forensics and Cybercrimes program.
