Authorizing the appropriation and expenditure of an amount not to exceed $500,000 from the Sewer Replacement Fund for emergency repairs to the Grit Removal Process at the Water Reclamation Facility; authorizing the Mayor to enter into contracts for parts and emergency repair services; waiving the competitive bidding provisions of TMC Chapter 187; and declaring an emergency.

Tanks with broken equipment have to be available for service during rain events to assure hydraulic capacity of the plant; as a result, the division needs options to supplement their workforce as needed by contracting out work to repair the tanks and the flexibility to order parts immediately once the problem is determined.
