Recognizing Spengler Nathanson on the occasion of their 75th Anniversary.

 

Summary

WHEREAS, in February of 1947 four attorneys Otto Spengler, Joe Nathanson, Joe Heyman and Bert Hebenstreit formed a partnership for the practice of law in downtown Toledo and in the early 1990’s the firm shortened the company’s name to be the Law Firm of Spengler Nathanson; and

 

WHEREAS, Spengler Nathanson, a Toledo-based firm, established itself for more than sixty years in the Nicholas Building on Madison Ave., then moved the business to Four Seagate for ten years, until finally relocating to their current location at 900 Adams St.; and

 

WHEREAS, two of its founders have previously served as the Toledo City Law Director and Assistant Director, and today Spengler Nathanson is proud to have grown to more than twenty-five practicing attorneys that provide legal services to private businesses, individuals and governmental clients throughout Northwest Ohio, and the firm has helped to form such entities as the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority, as well as they provide counsel to Toledo MetroParks, universities and school districts; and

 

WHEREAS, over the decades, Spengler Nathanson has expanded into the practice areas of civil and criminal litigation, labor and employment, education, real estate, wealth and estate planning, and family law. Several attorneys of the firm have excelled to fill positions that include President of the Toledo Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio General Assembly, the Federal District Court, the State Appellate Court and the Common Pleas Court; and

 

WHEREAS, Spengler Nathanson continues their mission of commitment to the Toledo-area community by providing their time and expertise to local religious and non-profit organizations, and they engage in a variety of hands-on community service projects that include delivering meals to first responders, walking shelter dogs, cleaning parks, wrapping foster children’s holiday presents and assembling care packages for deployed military personnel; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That this Council does hereby recognize the impact and legacy of the Law Firm of Spengler Nathanson and congratulates their attorneys and staff on this occasion in acknowledgement of their 75th anniversary of being a respected and valued member of the Toledo community.

 

SECTION 2.  That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
