SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The City of Toledo has an existing contract with TRAINCO Truck Driving Schools, Inc., for CDL training for employees. This contract was competitively bid in June 2023 and has been utilized by multiple departments. This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of funds pursuant to this contract for training employees in Sewer & drainage Services and Water Distribution. New employees needing a Class A CDL license may attain their training through this ordinance with TRAINCO, an accredited training provider.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $36,000 is authorized from the Water Operating Fund Account Code 6060-34000-4000514STDSTD, and $42,000 is authorized from the Sewer Operating Fund Account Code 6070-37000-4000510ADMSUP for Commercial Driver License training pursuant to the existing agreement with TRAINCO Truck Driving Schools, Inc.

 

SECTION 2. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the above Account Codes in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers in amounts not to exceed those authorized above.

                     

SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order for employees to obtain their CDL.
