SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Office of Criminal Justice services (OCJS) has awarded the City of Toledo $37,622.64 from grant funds under the 2025-VC-VCR-92883 Violent Crime Reduction Grant program to support funding of the Toledo Police Department. The funds will be used for overtime. There are no matching requirements.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Office of Criminal Justice services (OCJS)  and to accept and deposit 2025 Violent Crime Reduction Grant proceeds in the amount of $37,622.64 into the Operation Grants Fund Account Code 2016-52000-3G00090STDSTD.

 

SECTION 2.  That the appropriation of $37,622.64 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to various accounts within Account Code 2016-52000-3G00090STDSTD; and further authorizing the expenditure of same for departmental overtime.

 

SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to draw a warrant or warrants against the above mentioned Account Code in an amount not to exceed $37,622.64 in payment of the obligations authorized above by the terms of the grant upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and to satisfy the requirements of the grant.

 

Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 12, nays 0.
