Title

Authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $15,000 annually from the Water Operating Fund to provide payment of the City of Toledo Department of Public Works membership dues to the Association of Ohio Drinking Water Agencies, Inc. (AODWA) for years 2026, 2027 & 2028; and declaring an emergency.

 

Body

The Association of Ohio Drinking Water Agencies, Inc. (AODWA) is an Association whose fundamental purpose is to ensure safe and clean drinking water for Ohioans.  This Ordinance authorizes payment of the membership dues for the Department of Public Works.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That subject to future year appropriations the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $15,000 annually is authorized from the Water Operating Fund Account Code 6060-34000-4000523STDSTD for payment of the City of Toledo 2026, 2027 and 2028 membership dues to the Association of Ohio Drinking Water Agencies.

                                          

                     SECTION 2.  That the Finance Director is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the Account Code identified in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $15,000 annually in payment of the obligations incurred pursuant to the membership authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

                     

                     SECTION 3.                     That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that expenditure is needed for prompt payment of annual dues to the Association of Ohio Drinking Water Agencies, Inc.
