SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Bender Communications Inc. for a four-year agreement to perform police radio maintenance. A request for proposal was posted on Planet Bids and the winning bidder was Bender Communications, Inc. This contract covers repairs and labor, preventative maintenance, testing, calibration, and reconditioning. This agreement will enable the department to reliably budget for the four year costs of Motorola police radio maintenance.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a four-year police radio maintenance agreement upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Police and the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That the amount not to exceed $20,100 is authorized for expenditure annually over the term of the agreement for the purpose authorized in Section 1 from the General Fund Account Code 1001-52000-3381002STDSTD subject to future appropriations.
SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw her warrant or warrants against the above referenced Account Code in payment of the obligations authorized in Section 1 and upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to continue uninterrupted essential public safety communications.
