Honoring Peter H. Straube for his dedication to his family, friends, clients and volunteer positions.

 

Summary

WHEREAS, Peter H. Straube was born to Heinz and Margarete Straube in Celle, Germany on July 2, 1950; and passed on April 12, 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, in 1957, Peter, not knowing a word of English, immigrated with his parents and younger brother Manfred to the United States; he grew up in Fremont, Ohio and graduated 10th in his class from Fremont Ross High School; and

 

WHEREAS, Peter worked his way through college and obtained a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo; and

 

WHEREAS, Peter performed engineering activities during design, construction and operation of petrochemical and power plants; and

 

WHEREAS, in 1981, Peter married the love of his life, Barbara Krotzer; they lived in West Toledo and Old Orchard for about 30 years and then moved to Monclova Township in 2013; and

 

WHEREAS, Peter retired from the Davis Besse Nuclear Power Station, as a Staff Engineer, after more than 20 years of service; and

 

WHEREAS, during his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and a variety of activities which included DIY projects, gardening, bicycling and volunteer work, which included: being a part of the Toledo Police Department RSVP and Ambassadors programs, escort on Northwest Ohio Honor Flight, Metroparks Trail Patrol and donating platelets blood to the Red Cross; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That we honor Peter H. Straube for his dedication to his family, friends, clients and volunteer positions. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

 

                     SECTION 2.  That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
