Title

Authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $200,000 from the Special Assessment Services Fund for the Division of Road and Bridge Maintenance Snow Operations Study; authorizing the Mayor to accept bids and award contracts for said study; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Division of Road and Bridge Maintenance is tasked with Snow and Ice Control operations during winter storm events. The Division seeks to enter into a professional services contract for a snow operations study to evaluate the current procedures, equipment and operations.  This study will be used to optimize the Division’s snow and ice operations. 

 

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.                     That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $200,000 is authorized from the Special Assessment Services Fund Account Code 3050-23100-2422001STDSTD for the Division of Road and Bridge Maintenance snow operations study.

 

SECTION 2.                     That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and enter into contracts for the snow operations study, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Transportation and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the Account Code listed above in an amount not to exceed $200,000 in payment of the obligations incurred pursuant to the contract authorized in Section 2 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely move forward with the snow operations study.
