Endorsing and supporting the relationship between Toledo Football Academy and the Toledo Celtics Inc. for the purposes of applying for funding for the development and use of Schneider Park; and declaring an emergency.
Summary
WHEREAS, the Toledo Football Academy, founded in 2006, was established to promote the values of Passion, Integrity, Fun and Enjoyment, Competition, and Respect through the game of soccer and a committing to developing these qualities and growth not only in soccer players, but responsible young people on and off the field; and
WHEREAS, the Toledo Celtics Inc., founded in 1987, was established for players to enjoy the experience, creativity, and spontaneity that the game of soccer encourages so that players have a never-ending love of the game; and
WHEREAS, the Toledo Football Academy and the Toledo Celtics, Inc. have come together to offer the game of soccer and other recreational activities at Schneider Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Toledo supports the relationship of the Toledo Football Academy and the Toledo Celtics, Inc. for the purposes of plans to apply for funding for the future development of Schneider Park; and
WHEREAS, encouraging the future development of Schneider Park through the relationship of these two organizations will support the health and wellness of citizens throughout the City of Toledo and surrounding areas; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the City of Toledo endorses the relationship between the Toledo Football Academy and the Toledo Celtics, Inc.
SECTION 2. That the City of Toledo supports the game of soccer and recreational activities offered by the two organizations at Schneider Park.
SECTION 3. That the City of Toledo supports the Toledo Football Academy and the Toledo Celtics, Inc., for their plans to apply for funding for the development of Schneider Park.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Resolution is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Resolution must be immediately effective in order to expedite the future development of Schneider Park and apply for funding assistance.
