Title

Authorizing the annual expenditure of an amount not to exceed $300,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for vehicle replacement for the Toledo Police Department under an existing agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

Ordinance 254-19 authorized the mayor to enter into a contract with Enterprise Fleet Management for vehicle and equipment replacement for the city’s fleet. The Toledo Police Department plans to utilize this contract for leasing patrol vehicles for the Department over the next three (3) years.

 

The fiscal impact of this Ordinance is as follows:

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That, subject to available appropriation in future years, the annual expenditure of an amount up to $300,000 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-52000-89CP2010POLLSE, for vehicle replacement for the Toledo Police Department.

 

                                                                                                         SECTION 2.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an amended vehicle lease agreement, as needed, for the purposes of qualifying the vehicles as a capital purchase upon terms and conditions as otherwise acceptable to the Director of Finance and Director of Law.

 

SECTION 3.                      That the Finance Director is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against the proper appropriation from available funds in payment of all obligations created by this ordinance upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4.                      That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the timely replacement of aging fleet.
