Amending Ordinance 138-26 to include expenditure authorization for park maintenance equipment; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes expending $300,000 for City of Toledo Parks infrastructure revitalization. Funds will be used to support the upgrading of parks infrastructure items, including but not limited to the purchase and installation of benches, picnic tables, and grills, the repaving/reconstruction of pathways and parking lots, the manufacturing and installation of new city park signage, capital equipment necessary for maintenance of the parks, and other items as necessary. Funds for this initiative are included in the approved Capital Improvement Plan budget. 

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE,

 

Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance 138-26 which reads as follows:

 

SECTION 1. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $300,000 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-40100-8CP2619PRKINF for the City of Toledo Parks infrastructure revitalization initiative.

 

is repealed.

 

SECTION 2. That a new Section 1 of Ordinance 138-26 is enacted to read as follows:

 

 

SECTION 1. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $300,000 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-40100-8CP2619PRKINF for the City of Toledo Parks infrastructure revitalization initiative and the for the purchase of park maintenance equipment.

 

 

SECTION 3. That except as amended herein all other provisions of Ordinance 138-26 remain in full force and effect.

 

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to timely continue parks revitalization efforts.
