Title
Recognizing the 90th Anniversary of Lucas Metropolitan Housing.
Summary
WHEREAS, Lucas Metropolitan Housing was established in 1933 to provide affordable housing to adults, seniors, and children in need of safe affordable housing in the Northwest Ohio region; and
WHEREAS, Lucas Metropolitan Housing offers multiple programs including Public Housing, the Housing Choice Voucher Program, as well as Mixed-Income and market rate housing units to provide choice to those in need of housing; and
WHEREAS, Lucas Metropolitan Housing is driven by the core value of R.E.S.P.E.C.T: Reliability, Excellence, Safety, Passion, Ethics, Commitment, and Teamwork in every service provided to residents and the community; and
WHEREAS, Lucas Metropolitan Housing is dedicated to creating an environment which enhanced the quality of life for residents, staff and stakeholders by delivering quality and effective services and programs; and
WHEREAS, Lucas Metropolitan Housing is continuing to expand options and services for the changing needs of the community, when LMH became aware of the dire need for stable housing for youth aging out of foster care, the plans for the redevelopment of the Park Hotel into the Park Apartments was developed; a safe place for young adults to learn life skills while preparing for the future; and
WHEREAS, Lucas Metropolitan Housing works collaboratively with community partners and stakeholders to create and nurture safe livable communities to build the fabric of the Northwest Ohio community; when people feel safety and security in their environment, communities grow stronger and more connected; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That we celebrate and congratulate Lucas Metropolitan Housing on the 90th Anniversary and wish the organization continued success and longevity while helping those in the community in need of housing.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
