SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Fire & Rescue Department intends to issue a bid for new fire inspection software. Due to operational needs and implementation timelines, the Fire & Rescue Department requests authorizing to extend the existing contract for a period of six months. This amendment also authorizes supplemental funding in the amount of $7,888 to cover the prorated licensing and support costs associated with the extension.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an amended agreement with Streamline Automation Systems for fire inspection software for a period of six months upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Fire & Rescue and the Director of Law.

SECTION 2. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $7,888 is authorized from the General Fund, Account Code 1001-53000-3341002STDSTD, for the fire inspection software.

SECTION 3. That this Council finds and determines it is in the best interest of the City to maintain continuity of fire inspection, community risk reduction, and smoke detector distribution services.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the necessity of preserving public health, safety, and property by ensuring uninterrupted operation of the fire inspection and risk-assessment software platform.
