Title

Authorizing the expenditure of $46,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund District Improvement Program for the installation of an irrigation system at the Anthony Wayne Trail Downtown Gateway; authorizing the Mayor to execute the necessary contracts; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The officers of ConnecToledo submitted a District Improvement Program application for the installation of an irrigation system to support beautification efforts at the Anthony Wayne Trail Downtown Gateway.  The District Improvement Review Committee convened on September 29, 2023, and recommended approval of this application in an amount of $46,000.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That a sum of $46,000 is authorized for expenditure from Account Code 5040-10100-8CP2222DNGPRO from the Capital Improvement Fund District Improvement Program for the installation of an irrigation system at the Anthony Wayne Trail Downtown Gateway.

 

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute and deliver the necessary contracts from the District Improvement Program for said project, upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of the Department of Economic Development, the Department of Public Service, and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to timely receipt and deposit the grant funds.
