SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance is being established to create the Employee Engagement Trust Fund account and authorize the acceptance, deposit, appropriation and expenditure of funds generated through sales of City of Toledo branded merchandise.

The proceeds deposited into the trust fund shall be dedicated exclusively for employee engagement purposes. The establishment of this trust fund will provide a centralized mechanism to support employee morale, engagement initiatives, activities, and related programs benefiting City employees.

This ordinance further authorizes the Director of Human Resources to approve expenditures and sign off on the use of funds associated with the trust fund.

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That the Employee Engagement Trust Fund 2157-17100-1156001STDEEC is hereby established for the purpose of accepting proceeds from sales of branded merchandise and other donations to be used for employee engagement purposes.

 

                     SECTION 2.  That the deposit, appropriation and expenditure of funds is authorized for employee engagement purposes upon approval by the authorized signatories identified herein.

 

                     SECTION 3. That the Director of Human Resources is hereby authorized to review, approve, and sign off on expenditures and uses of funds associated with the Employee Engagement Trust Fund in accordance with applicable City policies and procedures.

 

                     SECTION 4. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the Account Code above in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 5. That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property, and for the further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to establish the Employee Engagement Trust Fund and begin accepting proceeds and donations in support of employee engagement initiatives.
