SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

There is $51,075 remaining in the landfill’s 2025 CIP equipment account from realized cost savings.  The Division of Solid Waste is requesting to reallocate and expend these resources on critical infrastructure improvements to maintain operational compliance. These improvements include a combination of leachate management and Gas Collection and Control.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That the disappropriation of $51,075 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-24500-8CP2518LNDEQP.

 

SECTION 2.  That an amount not to exceed $51,075 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 5040-24500-8CP2418LNDCEL and expenditure of same is authorized for infrastructure improvements.

 

SECTION 3.                     That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1, upon terms and conditions as approved by the Director of Law and the Director of Public Service.

 

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order for the City of Toledo to continue operations at the Hoffman Road Landfill within regulatory requirements.
