Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Midwest Public Safety, LLC for the purchase of in-car cameras for the Toledo Police Department. These cameras will replace our L3 in-car cameras that are becoming obsolete. In order to stay compatible with the current system, Getac cameras must be purchased. Midwest Public Safety LLC is the authorized seller for Getac camera system in the area.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with Midwest Public Safety, LLC for the purchase of in-car cameras for the Toledo Police Department, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Police and the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That the amount not to exceed $165,047.70 is authorized for expenditure from the General Fund Account Code 1001-52000-3381002STDSTD for the purchase of the in-car cameras.
SECTION 3. That this Council finds and determines it is in the best interest of the City to waive the competitive procurement requirements of TMC Chapter 187 for the reason that Midwest Public Safety is the only authorized seller of Getac cameras in the Toledo area.
SECTION 4. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above referenced Account Code in payment of the obligation authorized in Section 2 in an amount not to exceed $165,047.70 and upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 5. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that the ordinance must be immediately effective in order to continue using the in-car cameras.
