SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo has been awarded additional funding and is invited to enter into an amended grant agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) for a H2Ohio grant in the amount of $35,000 to be used for the Hill Ditch stream restoration project at Bandore Park.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an amended grant agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for the Hill Ditch stream restoration project at Bandore Park upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept and deposit additional grant proceeds from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in an amount not to exceed $35,000 into the Operation Grants Fund, Account Code 2016-38000-6GA8577STDSTD for the Hill Ditch stream restoration project at Bandore Park.
SECTION 3. That the appropriation from the unappropriated grant proceeds in an additional amount not to exceed $35,000 is authorized from the Operation Grants Fund into Account Code 2016-38000-6GA8577STDSTD; and further authorizing the expenditure of same for the Hill Ditch stream restoration project at Bandore Park.
SECTION 4. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and execute necessary contracts related to this grant upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.
SECTION 5. That the Director of Finance is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the Account Codes above in amounts not to exceed those authorized above in payment of the obligations incurred pursuant to the above-authorized contracts upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 6. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property of the city and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to implement this program within Ohio Department of Natural Resources designated time schedule.
