SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo is seeking funding from the 2023 CIP budget to fund the 1% For the Arts 2023 Municipal Art Plan. This legislation authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo to implement the 2023 Municipal Art Plan, which has been approved by the Toledo Plan Commission.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo to implement the 2023 Municipal Art Plan pursuant to terms and conditions deemed requisite and appropriate by the Department of Law.

 

SECTION 2.  That an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $392,409 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-40100-8CP1PERFORART (FY 2023 1% For the Arts) for the purpose authorized in Section 1.

 

SECTION 3.  That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above-mentioned Account Code in an amount not to exceed that authorized above upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance will allow for the timely payment toward the 1% For the Arts.

 

Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 12, nays 0.
