SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
As part of the construction of the new Lucas County Canine Care & Control building on Monroe Street, the City is reconstructing 13th between Washington and Monroe.
The City of Toledo is designing and overseeing the reconstruction. Lucas County will agree to pay for half of the roadway construction costs up to a maximum of $200,000.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into and execute cooperative agreements between the City of Toledo and Lucas County for roadway improvements on 13th Street between Washington and Monroe.
SECTION 2. That the City of Toledo gives consent to and shall cooperate with Lucas County, in connection with the above project as follows:
1) The County agrees to contribute an amount not to exceed $200,000 for construction.
2) The City agrees to be the lead agency and to administer the construction phase of this project.
SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to accept and deposit funds in an amount not to exceed $200,000 from Lucas County into the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-35000-8CP2502STREET as reimbursement for said project.
SECTION 4. That an amount not to exceed $200,000 is appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Improvement Fund into the account code listed above for the project listed above, and authorizing the expenditure of same.
SECTION 5. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to permit timely reimbursement to Lucas County for design changes.
