Title

Authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $30,000 from the General Fund for City of Toledo’s committed support of the Levitt Foundation BLOC grant for a period of three years; authorizing the Mayor to accept bids and award contracts for said purpose; and declaring an emergency.

Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This Ordinance authorizes expending up to $30,000 over 3 years to provide matching funds for the $120,000 grant received from the Levitt Foundation to support free, outdoor music concerts in parks throughout the City of Toledo.  Funding partners include Metroparks Toledo and Toledo Design Collective.

Overall the funding will support 8 to 10 concerts per year, in Promenade Park, Glass City Metropark, Junction Park, and Danny Thomas Park.  Toledo was chosen for this competitive grant following a public voting period and comprehensive review process.

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That subject to appropriation the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $30,000 is authorized from the General Fund Account Code 1001-16400-5000436STDSTD for the Levitt BLOC Music Series grant match.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a three-year grant agreement for the purposes specified in Section 1, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Law and the Director of Public Service.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in payment of the above authorized obligations in amounts not to exceed $30,000 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
