Title

Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a vehicle lease agreement with Acme Auto Leasing, LLC; authorizing the annual expenditure from the General Fund in an amount not to exceed $96,660 for four years; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this lease is to obtain vehicles for use in undercover operations.  Acme Auto Leasing, LLC was the sole bidder on Planet Bids for this contract. The total cost of this lease over four years is $386,640. 

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a four-year vehicle lease agreement with Acme Auto Leasing, LLC upon such terms and conditions as acceptable to the Director of the Department of Police Operations and the Department of Law.

 

                     SECTION 2.  That, subject to available appropriation in future years, the annual expenditure of $96,660 over the term of the agreement authorized in Section 1 is authorized from the General Fund, Account Code 1001-52000-3381002STDSTD, for the purpose of leasing vehicles.

 

                     SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to draw a warrant or warrants against the above mentioned Account Code in an amount not to exceed $96,660 annually for a four-year period in payment of the above authorized obligations by the terms of the lease upon presentation of the proper documentation of the expense.

 

                     SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, property, and conduct undercover investigations.

 

Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 12, nays 0.

 

Passed:  August 12, 2025, as an emergency measure:  yeas 11, nays 1.
