Title

Authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with ADJ Forest Products, LP for the sale of first grind woodchip material; authorizing the acceptance of a unit price of $4.00 per cubic yard; and declaring an emergency.

Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

ADJ Forest Products LP of Grayling Michigan is an industrial hardwood lumber sawmill. ADJ reached out to the city to purchase woodchip material in order to feed a boiler for heat. The city would like to enter into an agreement with AJD for the sale of an estimated 24,000yd3 of first grind material at $4.00/yd3. AJD will hire a freight line company to haul all material with an estimated two trucks a day hauling the material from the Elmdale woodlot.

Summary

NOW THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1.  That the mayor is authorized to enter into agreement with ADJ Forest Products LP for a term not to exceed one year for the sale of first grind woodchip material.

SECTION 2.  That the cost per cubic yard is set at $4.00 for the sale of first grind woodchip material to ADJ Forest Products LP.

SECTION 3.  That all sale proceeds are to be deposited to the Toledo Urban Forestry Trust Fund Account Code 2090-60500-7T71508STDSTD.

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely enter into an agreement for the sale of woodchip materials and manage woodchip inventory.
