Title

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

Ordinance 442-25 authorized the acceptance of loan funds from the Ohio Water Development Authority for repairs for the Arlington sewer collapse. Due to the collapse of maintenance hole (MH) #31234 located near Sherwood and South Detroit has been damaged and caused erosion to the ditch. Bids to repair the maintenance hole have been received, and Taylor Excavating, Inc. has been selected as the lowest and best bidder.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract for repairs to Maintenance Hole (MH) #31234 located near Sherwood and South Detroit upon such terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 2.  That the expenditure from the Sanitary Sewer Replacement Fund Account Code 673L-35000-4UL2925STDSTD, not to exceed $99,000 is authorized for the repair of Maintenance Hole (MH) #31234 located near Sherwood and South Detroit.

 

SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the Account Code identified in Section 2 in an amount not to exceed $99,000 in payment of the above obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers. 

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow for the timely repair of Maintenance Hole (MH) #31234 near Sherwood & South Detroit.

 

Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 11 nays 0.
