SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
A District Improvement Program application for $25,000 has been approved by the District Improvement Program Review Committee to provide funding for the construction of an entrance arch at the Detwiler Baseball Complex. This project will compliment a larger renovation project at the baseball complex that improved the ball fields, press box, restrooms, and site accessibility.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $25,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-10100-8CP2318DNGPRO for construction of an entrance arch at the Detwiler Baseball Complex.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to amend an existing Detwiler Baseball Complex Improvement contract with Midwest Contracting Inc. for the purpose authorized in Section 1, upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of Parks and Youth Services and the Director of Law.
SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed $25,000 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to ensure completion of the project prior to the start of baseball season.
