SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Ordinance 441-22 authorized a one (1) year lease and a one-year renewal on a 1,475 sq. ft. space used for the customer service walk in area located on the ground floor of The Ohio Building for customers to be able to come in person to pay their bills and ask questions about their account. Ordinance 524-24 authorized a four (4) month lease extension beginning September 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2024. Ordinance 598-24 authorized a three (3) month lease extension beginning January 1st 2025 and ending March 31, 2025. This Ordinance would allow for a month-to-month extension of the lease beginning April 1, 2025 and ending December 31,2025.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a month-to-month extension of the existing lease with the Ohio Building Company, Ltd., for 1,475 square feet of customer service space for the Division of Utilities Administration located at 420 Madison Avenue for a term not to exceed nine consecutive months, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $2,700 per month pursuant to the lease agreement authorized in Section 1 is authorized from the Utility Administrative Services Fund Account Code 6078-31000-4000524STDSTD.
SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 2 in an amount not to exceed those authorized above in payment of the above-authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that the lease of said property will continue to provide space for customer service access for walk-in services for utility customers.
