SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes a contract for the performance of sewer repairs in Sewer District 3 (South) within the public rights-of-way and/or public sewer easements beyond the scope of what the in-house crews are capable of performing.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and enter into a one-year contract with two (2) one (1) year renewal options for sewer repairs in District 3 (South) upon such terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 2.  That subject to appropriation the annual expenditure of an amount not to exceed $1,180,870 from the Sewer Operating Fund in Account Code 6070-37000-4000558STDSTD is authorized for sewer repairs within the public rights-of-way and/or public sewer easements.

 

SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the above listed Account Code and amount in payment of the obligations authorized above upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers. 

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to for the timely repairs of city sewers within the public rights-of-way and/or public sewer easements.
