Commending the 56th Annual Debutante Cotillion Award Recipients.

 

Summary

WHEREAS, the Toledo Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. presented the 56th Annual Debutante Cotillion Ball on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Premier Banquet Hall in Toledo, Ohio; and

 

WHEREAS, after a three-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the beloved Cotillion has returned in full force; and

 

WHEREAS, well over 200 people attended this spectacular event where young ladies from the community were presented into society; and

 

WHEREAS, former Council President Wilma D. Brown was the 2024 Cotillion Chairwoman and this event is considered one of the top social events of the year in Toledo, and the Cotillion Ball and related activities include high school juniors and seniors who have shown academic, moral and civic qualities that make them eligible for this special recognition; and

 

WHEREAS, there were five Debutantes this year who exhibited outstanding performances, beauty, and grace. They were: Courtney Jones of Start High School; Taliyah Neely of Rogers High School; Rakaiya Phillips of Central Catholic High School; Reagan Quinn of Notre Dame Academy; and Taylor Scribner of Central Catholic High school; and

 

WHEREAS, crowned “Miss Debutante 2024,” “Miss Congeniality 2024,” and placed first in the “Talent Awards” was Courtney Jones of Start High School. Placing second in the “Talent Awards” was Taliyah Neely of Rogers High School;

 

NOW THEREFORE,                      Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That the debutantes and their families are hereby commended for their special recognition, and the Toledo Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs are honored for sponsoring this fine community event that instills pride in young women from our community.
