SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of $15,400 for the City of Toledo Parks & Recreation Division to continue offering weekly movie nights in our City of Toledo Parks throughout the summer of 2025.  In addition to movies, the evenings include DJ services from 7 pm until dusk, as well as other added points of engagement for families to enjoy before the movie begins. 

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That the expenditure of $15,400 is authorized from the General Fund Account Code 1001-40100-7741001STDSTD for services related to the execution of 11 summer movie nights.

 

                     SECTION 2.  That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and enter into agreements for the purpose authorized in Section 1, upon such terms and conditions as acceptable to the Director of Parks and Youth Services and the Director of Law.

 

                     SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $15,400 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance be an emergency measure and shall take and be in force and effect after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to ensure that summer movie nights will proceed without interruption.

 

Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 12, nays 0.
