SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes the city to accept a grant in the amount of $2,480 and enter into a grant agreement with the Ohio Historical Records Advisory Board (OHRAB). The grant is funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission and regranted by OHRAB.
This grant will fund the digital preservation of approximately 660 pages of hand-drawn linen City of Toledo plats from the 1880s. Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will provide digitization services. Digitization will maintain the integrity of the records and make them available to the public. No cash match is required.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a grant agreement with the Ohio Historical Records Advisory Board and accept and deposit a grant in the amount of $2,480 into 2016-10100-5G00166STDSTD for the plat map preservation project.
SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $2,480 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the 2016-10100-5G00166STDSTD and expenditure of the same is authorized for the purposes identified in Section1.
SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into necessary agreements for the purposes authorized above, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Transportation and the Director of Law.
SECTION 4. That the Director of Finance is authorized to issue warrant or warrants against the above-mentioned Account Code in an amount not to exceed $2,480 for the above authorized project upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 5. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely administer the grant.
