Authorizing the expenditure in an amount not to exceed $50,000 from the 2022 Capital Improvement Fund for the cost of police interview room cameras; waiving the competitive bidding requirements of Chapter 187 of the Toledo Municipal Code; and declaring an emergency.

 

Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes the expenditure from the Capital Improvements Fund for the replacement of the outdated cameras in interview rooms. This expenditure covers the costs of outfitting seven interview rooms with cameras and cloud data storage.  Getac Video Solutions Inc.is the current sole source provider of body cameras with cloud storage for TPD.  The City of Toledo entered into a five-year agreement with Getac beginning in 2020 (289-20). The interview room cameras must be compatible with our body worn camera cloud storage system that is currently in use from Getac.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That the amount not to exceed $50,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-52000-8CP2218POLINT for the cost of interview room cameras. 

 

                     SECTION 2. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above referenced Account Code in payment of the obligation authorized in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $50,000 and upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 3.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property.
