Title
Authorizing the Mayor to accept bids and award contracts for professional and construction services necessary for the completion of the Benore Pump Station Elevator Repair Project; authorizing the appropriation and expenditure in an amount not to exceed $75,000 from the Sanitary Sewer Replacement Fund for the Benore Pump Station Elevator Repair Project in North Toledo; and declaring an emergency.
Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Benore Pump Station serves the commercial area near the intersection of Alexis Road and Enterprise Boulevard in North Toledo. The pump station has a wet well that collects the sewage and a dry well that houses the pumps and associated equipment. The dry well is about 30 feet deep and is accessed through an elevator, which needs major repairs before it can be certified by the State of Ohio. The Division will be soliciting formal proposals for the necessary repairs for the elevator in order to get it certified by the State elevator inspector so it can be used by our maintenance personnel to access the dry well area. This Ordinance will provide funds for professional and construction services necessary for the completion of the Benore Pump Station Elevator Repair Project.
Summary

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for professional and construction services necessary for the completion of the Benore Pump Station Elevator Repair Project, upon terms and conditions approved by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the account code identified in Section 2 in an amount not to exceed $75,000 in payment of the obligations authorized herein upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 5. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to complete the Benore Pump Station Elevator Repair Project.
